Founding Statement / About

Welcome to wherewordsincrease.com!

At the outset of this project, I’d like to canvas a few of the goals for this site and what I would like to achieve through this medium.

The primary goal of this site is to produce thought-provoking, perspective-changing content. Metaphorically put, to present the reader with a verbal treasure-trove of ideas, thoughts, and reflections. The sort of articles, quotes, and thought pieces which will add to life in some way while helping the reader see things from a new perspective.

Another goal will be providing a medium for friends and guests to post their own work. If anyone wishes to submit a post for approval, posts may be sent to admin@wherewordsincrease.com (same goes for any other inquiries relating to the blog). I of course reserve the right to edit/reject submissions.

Topics will range from arts, culture, current events, books, reflective pieces, reviews, to pretty much anything that could be deemed interesting – from the trivial to the profound.

You may be wondering about why I chose the name “Where Words Increase.” The phrase references a passage from the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes which puts forth the statement, loosely translated, “Where words increase, so too does vanity, and what is the advantage to man?” This passage highlights the tendency for truth and meaning to be obscured or even lost when much is said or spoken. In that sense, the name acts as a sort of guiding principle for posts on the site: pursue truth and edification succinctly. Also, the name happens to describe the nature of a blog – a place where words, well… increase.

So to all reading, I hope you enjoy!
